In CASE You Missed It (February/March 2022)
We made it through January and now we’re well into the new year. Here at CASE, we haven’t skipped a beat. We have plenty of professional learning and networking events (virtual AND in person) coming your way, and so many other happenings as well. Check it out below!
Networking for Science
On Wednesday, January 26, we held our first virtual Networking for Science event designed for science education leaders such as TOSA’s, site/district leaders, department chairs and more. Attendees had the flexibility of choosing from a morning or afternoon session, and could choose in advance which topics they wanted to discuss. We had over 60 participants between each session. Our second Networking for Science Event was held February 17, and it also had a great turnout!
Two-Part Learning Experience: Los Angeles River Hike and Virtual History Webinar
If you’re in the Los Angeles area, we have an upcoming two-part learning experience you won’t want to miss. On Thursday, March 3, USC history professor Bill Deverell will be holding a webinar on the history of the Los Angeles River. This will be followed by an in-person hike on Saturday, March 5, at Rattlesnake Park at Ripple St. and Fletcher Drive in Frogtown. This event is $10 for members and $20 for nonmembers. Call for Proposals
The call for proposals for the 2022 California Science Education conference is now open! This year’s conference will be IN PERSON for the first time in three years, which means you’ll have the opportunity to travel to sunny Palm Springs with us! The submission deadline is Friday, April 29, 2022. Click here to submit today!
