Get Involved in CASE!

By Megan M. Bettis

Whether you’re a new or long-time member of CASE, now is a great time to get involved!

This spring, CASE is holding elections for 2027-2029 Board of Directors positions. Board members serve two-year terms and are vital to shaping the vision and direction of the organization.

Board positions up for election this year include:

  • Treasurer
  • Region 2 Director (representing Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, Napa, San Benito, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and Solano counties)
  • Region 4 Director (representing Imperial, Inyo, Mono, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego counties)
  • Upper Elementary Director
  • High School Director
  • 4-Year College Director

Interested candidates will need to complete this Google Form, and submit your resume/CV, two letters of recommendation from CASE members, and a high-resolution headshot.  More information and materials can be found on our website at: https://cascience.org/page/BoardPositions. The nomination application window is currently open and closes on Friday, April 10, 2026.

Want to get involved but not yet ready to serve on the board? CASE committees offer multiple avenues to develop your leadership skills and serve the greater California science education community. Initial committees are established in July, and committee members serve a one-year term; however, CASE is always recruiting new committee members. Many members continue to serve on the same committee year after year! Committee members from formal and informal educational institutions and all stages of their career path (new teachers included!) are encouraged to apply; we want our committees to reflect the full diversity of our educator community.

Current CASE committees include:

  • Advocacy
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
  • eCommunications and Outreach
  • Environmental Literacy
  • Members and Membership
  • Mentoring and Leadership
  • NGSS
  • Integration of NGSS and Career Education
  • Policy
  • Publications

You can find detailed descriptions of each committee’s focus on the CASE website.

Interested in serving on a committee? Sign up here for our 2026-27 committees.

Not quite ready to join our leadership? That's ok, we have a wide variety of events you can participate in as well. Check out the Upcoming Events Calendar and stay tuned for registration information for our Annual Conference in November!
