CASE Needs Your Thought on NGSS Professional Learning
At the beginning of July, CASE launched a survey as a component of a major data collection and learning effort to gauge the status of NGSS Professional Learning throughout the state. As an organization that prides itself on being an advocate for high-quality science education in California it is important for us to better understand the landscape within which you are working. To date, we have received almost 500 responses, but we want to make sure that everyone’s voices are heard.
What are we seeing so far? Here is a bit of detail about survey respondents:
- 53% of respondents are from traditional schools
- 27% of respondents are from Title I schools
- 56% of respondents are from suburban communities
- 28% of respondents are from urban communities
- 12% of respondents are from rural communities
Our respondents are from all grade levels.
- Secondary (9-12) 34%
- Middle Level (6-8) 31%
- Intermediate (3-5) 16%
- Primary (K-2) 7%
Do you see where you and your colleagues may be underrepresented? There is still time to complete the survey and have your voice heard!
The link below will take you to a survey that is comprehensive and thorough in nature, which could take approximately 15 to 20 minutes to complete. The information gathered will provide us with a strong set of responses from which we can better communicate to policy makers, decision makers, and those who have influence over access to increased professional learning opportunities and access to the resources that you need. This survey will be foundational to the work that we will be undertaking over the next few years, so we hope you will spend quality time in providing us with thoughtful responses.
Recognizing that this survey is lengthy, we also want to provide an opportunity to express our gratitude. For all those who take the time and complete the survey by August 15, 2020 you will be entered into a drawing for a full California Science Education Virtual Conference registration package.
