Region 1 Update (Aug/Sep 2020)
by Kelli Quan-Martin, CSTA Region 1 Director
It’s that time of year when we start gearing up for a new group of students/families and a new school year; but this time, many teachers and students are still wondering what this year will look like. Whether returning to school via distance learning, a hybrid model, or in-person, a number of professional development providers are stepping up and collaborating to meet the new needs of science educators in California; and the nice thing is that you don’t have to travel far to access it! From the comfort of your own home, you can view both live and recorded professional development opportunities, including these:
Region 6 STEM Distance Learning Tools (Recorded Webinar Series)
Are you looking to build your distance learning toolbox? Watch the Region 6 STEM Team Distance Learning workshops as we tackle different online tools each week. Weekly workshops include highlighting a single online tool with built-in opportunities for discussion, collaboration, and reflection. Topics include: Screencasting, Science Journal, Edpuzzle, Flipgrid, Hyperdocs, and Virtual Tours.
