The California Mathematics, Science, and Computer Science Partnership (CAL-MSCS) is a statewide initiative designed to strengthen STEM professional learning across local and statewide systems. The 2025-26 program year has marked many celebrations of impact and the amplification of professional learning opportunities in science education. Most recently, the CAL-MSCS statewide Science Community of Practice was held in Santa Rosa and brought together educational leaders, representing 45 of the 58 counties in California. During the two-day convening, 248 participants gathered to learn from and alongside one another about topics related to cross-content integration, NGSS foundations and beyond, and leadership and sustainability. This data visualization shares an overview of the event, including the diverse participant roles and specific counties represented.

Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive: 99% reported learning new information relevant to math, science, and/or computer science that could impact their local systems, and 100% plan to apply resources or insights from the event in their work.

CAL-MSCS and CASE have maintained a close partnership since the initiative's launch. In fact, the first statewide Community of Practice was launched in November 2024 in conjunction with the CA Science Education Pre-Conference.
