Region 4 Update: Summer 2024

By Crystal Starr Howe, Region 4 Director

The transition to summer always fills me with mixed emotions. Ending a year with students and saying goodbye at graduations can be bittersweet. Knowing you don’t have to get up with an alarm or pack a lunch for a few weeks can be thrilling.

This summer, I hope you consider taking up a new hobby, setting up a gratitude journal that can help support you when the school year gets hard, or catching up on that giant to-be-read pile. You might even spend a day investigating a local environmental phenomenon that you want to bring to your students in the coming school year. See the CA Environmental Phenomena Resources to spark your imagination!

I have enjoyed the opportunity to serve as your CASE Region 4 Director during the past three years. Please reach out to our new Region 4 Director, Amanda Chiatovich Cloutier for information and to share celebrations for Southern California.
